The Southern Pacific Railroad History Center receives no federal, state, or local funding. All revenue comes from donations, on-line stores, and memberships.

The SP 8007 was the lead locomotive for the CIBAT11, the last Southern Pacific train to depart Los Angeles on September 11, 1996 for the San Francisco Bay Area using the Southern Pacific’s Coast Route. Shown in the picture are engineer Bob McCarthy, on the right, and conductor R. P. Smith on the left.
