This book is a pictorial account of flume and logging railroads in California’s southern Sierra Nevada mountains from 1874 until 1942. Nearly five billion board feet of lumber was shipped from this region all over the world. Over 500 miles of railroad, 170 miles of flumes, 26 sawmills and 28 locomotives were involved in this process. The book was published by Stauffer Publishing with 160 pages of black and white photos and history of the region include a fine map show all the logging lines and flumes. The book is in like new condition with a dust jacket and no marking or scuffing.
