Southern Pacific’s famed Shasta Route opened in 188 reaching Portland this softbound 138 page book covers the entire history of this key SP route and includes a few pages recounting the Amtrak era, as well. Maps, schedules, text and many captioned photos describe the development and operation of this scenic railroad. Published in 1981 by History West in concert with the California State Railroad Museum, this book is in very good used condition.
